Countdown

Well as we enjoy this Memorial Day weekend and look forward the the ensuing 4 day work week, we realise that there are only 5 more epsiodes of Studio 60 to watch. I went through my usual searches again to find out what was new in the internet and of cousre I found the same old stuff out there. Those people who hated Studio 60 before, still hate it, but surprise, surprise, they still seem to watch it. Maybe they are just gluttons for punishment or need something to complain about, but I love the comment by one fan who politely told all the Naysayers to Go Away and allow those of us who enjoy the show to watch it in peace for another 5 weeks.
I enjoyed reading the TV Squadthread. It starts with an intelligent analogy about a baseball game (of, course, This is America) and many of the comments are actually pertinent and thoughtful.
The major thread on al the sites I visited was the absence of Danny. Matt and Jordan from last Thursday’s show and a general concensus that these three characters are the mainstay of the program. Coupled with a supporting nod for Allison Janney and Timothy Busfield.
Interestingly enough, NBC lost the time slot last Thursday to reruns of Shark (CBS) and Grey’s Anatomy (ABC). I guess that really says it all.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was a show about making a show -- a Friday night sketch comedy living and dying by the ratings and the buzz and the bottom line. It also turned out to be about the ways that overinflated expectations and caustic criticism can doom a TV drama. Still, if you're a fan of great acting and Aaron Sorkin's way with dialog, there's a lot to love in Studio 60's sole season.
