Let’s get the word out

by

I have had a few comments to the effect that Studio 60 is not getting the viewers or the ratings it deserves and unless this changes there is a good chance it could get cancelled. So - I am urging you all to get the word out to your friends, realtives, colleagues, neighbours - anybody that touches your daily lives - get people watching so that the show stays on the air. This show is witty, well cast, well acted, well produced and all in all a great show. So we have to keep it on the air. I am so tired of good quality shows getting cancelled because they aren’ getting the viewers or ratings, and while I understand that the networks have to make money - they also have an obligation to entertain and to produce quality shows for the discerning public, instead of catering to the lowest common denominator all the time. We all know that reality shows (although I fail to see what is real about living on an island with 11 strangers for 39 days) are the big ticket and the half hour comedy shows also command big audiences, but Studio 60 is the thinking mans show - it has real drama, humour and doesn’t hesitate to address sensitive topics, all while entertaining and enthralling its audience - So lets keep it on the air!!

Right on. I love the show but some times you watch it and wonder if it’s where West Wing people go when they’re looking for work. Just kidding.

The netorks have been pretty skittish lately, pulling show quick if they don’t think it will pop. I’m hoping that they’ll stick with this show and let it build a following.

Are you just wanting people to keep watching this show so you still have a job blogging about it? LOL! I’m just joking. I really like Studio 60 also. I’m just not sure that it will ever attract a huge audience. Much like Sports Night.

It’s sad I know. But, if it goes off the air, you can always blog about American Idol, because that will NEVER get cancelled, .

    Aaron.

About Watching Studio60

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was a show about making a show -- a Friday night sketch comedy living and dying by the ratings and the buzz and the bottom line. It also turned out to be about the ways that overinflated expectations and caustic criticism can doom a TV drama. Still, if you're a fan of great acting and Aaron Sorkin's way with dialog, there's a lot to love in Studio 60's sole season. Read here to look back at the show, and look forward at what the cast and creative powers are doing now.
