Not a Lot to Say

by

It seems that CBS won the MOnday night viewing race again and The Black Donnelly’s only gathered a 5.5 rating/9 share in their time slot. So what does this tell us - that Monday night at 10.00pm belongd to CSI- Miami and any show that tries to compete is doomed to failure? Or maybe that even less people watched The Black Donnelly’s then Studio 60 because if you wanted to see violence you already have a show on the other channel to watch. Studio 60 offered a choice in that time slot for the more discerning viewer who wanted to be entertained and intellectually stimulated rather then just by gun slinging yahoos, whose answer to every problem is to shoot their way out of it.
Having failed to win back the 10.00 pm Monday night time slot, maybe the executives at NBC will realize that changing the time slot was perhaps the solution to the problem and not changing the show. We can only hope.
And the winner is:
David Caruso

Hope the Black Donnellys crash and burn. Hope Showtime, Bravo, or the like will take over Studio 60.

About Watching Studio60

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was a show about making a show -- a Friday night sketch comedy living and dying by the ratings and the buzz and the bottom line. It also turned out to be about the ways that overinflated expectations and caustic criticism can doom a TV drama. Still, if you're a fan of great acting and Aaron Sorkin's way with dialog, there's a lot to love in Studio 60's sole season. Read here to look back at the show, and look forward at what the cast and creative powers are doing now.
