Put yourself in Bradley Whitford’s sunglasses

by

If you’re a fan of Bradley Whitford (and if not, what’s the matter with you?), you’re probably aware of Clothes Off Our Back, the charity celebrity clothing auction he founded with wife Jane Kaczmarek. There are a number of auctions starting and stopping in the next week or so, and even if you don’t have the dough to actually bid on anything, it’s always fun to take a gander at the celebrity-donated goods (including the sunglasses Whitford wore to the Tony Awards, pictured).

Current auctions are:

Isabella Oliver Celebrity Maternity Fashion Auction: Through Wednesday, bid on “celebrity maternity fashion from Isabella Oliver. Donations from Gwen Stefani, Nancy O’Dell, Samantha Harris, Jeri Ryan, Giada DeLaurentiis, Alison Sweeney and others.” Gift bag items are also available.

Daytime Emmys: Through Friday, bid on celebrity donations from the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, including Rachael Ray’s Donna Karan Collection Daytime Emmy gown and Barbara Walters’ Chanel handbag.

Tony Awards - The Best of Broadway: Through next Tuesday, bid on “donations from the 2008 Tony Awards and Broadway shows including Boeing-Boeing. Proceeds from the auction benefit Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS and Clothes Off Our Back.”

Celebrity Denim Auction: Starting Tuesday, “bid on your favorite celebrity’s worn and signed jeans. Denim donations from stars including Alison Sweeney, Tina Fey, Ryan Seacrest, Nick Lachey, Forest Whitaker, Brittany Snow, the cast of 9 to 5: The Musical and others will be up for bid.”

According to the site, Clothes Off Our Back’s proceeds benefit “America’s Second Harvest (the nation’s largest charitable hunger-relief organization), The Art of Elysium (which enriches the lives of artist and critically ill children), H.E.L.P. Malawi (spreading hope, education, love and protection to the children in Malawi) and Hope North (displaced children in Uganda find a new home: education, recreation, vocational training and communal living).”

About Watching Studio60

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was a show about making a show -- a Friday night sketch comedy living and dying by the ratings and the buzz and the bottom line. It also turned out to be about the ways that overinflated expectations and caustic criticism can doom a TV drama. Still, if you're a fan of great acting and Aaron Sorkin's way with dialog, there's a lot to love in Studio 60's sole season. Read here to look back at the show, and look forward at what the cast and creative powers are doing now.
