The latest information (heard on Kristen’s Blog) is that NBC is wating to see how well “the replacment show” does in the 10.00pm Monday evening time slot - but if it performs even as well as Studio 60 then they will cancel Studio 60 and keep the replacement. So it doesn’t even have to perform better to survive, just maintain the viewing numbers. The reasoning is that The Black Donnelly’s is cheaper to produce then Studio 60, so of course it’s all about numbers and money and not quality! Also, it seems that Studio 60 would have been cancelled a long time ago, except Aaron has a clause in his contract that makes it as expensive to cancel as to keep on the air - so Kudos to the savvy Aaron Sorkin.
Have you signed the petition yet? We are currently at 7319 signatures and the target is 10,000 - so please go sign and lets tell NBC that we appreciate quality TV over the mind numbing/ violent/disfunctional family/mafia/gun slinging show currently airing. (I didn’t watch it by the way!)

About Watching Studio60

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was a show about making a show -- a Friday night sketch comedy living and dying by the ratings and the buzz and the bottom line. It also turned out to be about the ways that overinflated expectations and caustic criticism can doom a TV drama. Still, if you're a fan of great acting and Aaron Sorkin's way with dialog, there's a lot to love in Studio 60's sole season. Read here to look back at the show, and look forward at what the cast and creative powers are doing now.
