Valentine’s thoughts

Today is Valentine’s day and it occurred to me that no reference was made to it on Monday’s episode of Studio 60. They referenced Thanksgiving and Christmas but not this one and given the direction that the show has been heading in its effort to gain viewers and ratings, I find this a little surprising. Maybe Danny could have given Jordan some chocolates - we all know that she loves to eat! Maybe Tom could have given Lucy a dinner date seeing as how their last one got completely screwed up by Jack - Oh I forgot - they have a date for Sunday night and we didn’t get past Friday night’s show on Monday, so maybe next week will see the Tom/Lucy date. Maybe Matt and/or Luke could have given Harriet some flowers, after all Matt did give her the fern plant when he first met her - so that might have been a way of rekindling some of the lost romance.
All in all - as I said yesterday, Monday’s episode was disappointing, specifically on the Matt and Harriet front and I am beginning to agree with a lot of opinions out there that are So Done with that story line and reckon it’s about they both moved on. But the good news is that the previews for next week show a new lady in Matt’s life, so let us hope that we get a chance to follow that story line for longer then 2 weeks.

    Me too, but I was trying to sugest that it might have increased the viewers if it had been incorporated into the new romantic angles of the show. I Aaron is really selling out his soul then he should go the distance.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was a show about making a show -- a Friday night sketch comedy living and dying by the ratings and the buzz and the bottom line. It also turned out to be about the ways that overinflated expectations and caustic criticism can doom a TV drama. Still, if you're a fan of great acting and Aaron Sorkin's way with dialog, there's a lot to love in Studio 60's sole season.
